Clark County Students Will Think Green & Clean this Fall
May 15, 2023
Over the past three years, Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing has partnered with the Clark County School District for our annual conservation contest. This year, we’re hosting the Think Green & Clean Contest!
We are encouraging students from the Clark County Unified School District, which includes 357 schools and over 315,000 students across the Las Vegas Valley, to enter their best ideas on how to conserve this time of year, reducing the load on the energy grid, and conserving water in acknowledging Nevada’s worsening drought.
Students are invited to share the type of impact their ideas could have on the community and economy.
The six winning students will be awarded cash prizes! The first place high school and middle school winners will be awarded $200 and the second place winners will be awarded a $100 cash prize. The kindergarten through grade five winners will be awarded a $150 first place cash prize and a 100-second place cash prize. In addition, Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing will donate $500 to the school with the most student entries.
Our team at Yes! values the opportunity to get involved in our community, and we’re excited to partner again with the Clark County School District for the Think Green & Clean contest. Water conservation, as well as energy conservation, is of huge importance right now for the Las Vegas community. Through our Think Green & Clean contest, we hope to encourage even more students to think about implementing conservation practices into everyday life, and encouraging them to consider the impact they can make on the environment for our community as a whole.
Eligible participants, students currently enrolled in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Clark County School District, are invited to submit ideas on how to conserve water, energy or both in their local Las Vegas Valley community. Entries are due between 12 a.m. PT on Sept. 21, 2015, and 5 p.m. PT on Oct. 16, 2015.
To enter, students must submit a conservation idea in the form of a written essay, drawing or model. All entries must include a thorough explanation, the potential impact of the idea on the economy and/or community, and how the idea can be implemented throughout their community. Projects must be submitted to the participant’s teacher by email to: YesThinkClean@boltpr.com, or via mail at 501 Elm St., Suite 450, Dallas, TX 75202, no later than 5 p.m. PT on Oct. 16, 2015.
